Prayatn Stage is coming out with their 2nd Tamil Play of 2015, ‘ID’ on April 29, 2015 at Narada Gana Sabha in the Kartik Fine Arts Summer Drama Festival.
To keep the Tamil Theater going, Prayatna Stage K.Vivekshankar is going into Crowdfunding his forthcoming Tamil Play, ID. He requests interested people to get in touch with him to contribute whatever they can for this project.
Prayatna stage is also conducting an audition for aspiring actors to be a part of the forthcoming play ‘ID’ and their subsequent plays. Prayatna is staging 3 plays this year. The first ‘Nadhimoolam’ was staged in February and received good reviews from media and audience too.

Let us show the world that we care for our art forms.
Further to our writeup on Stage play, we took the initiative to followup on the Tamil Play Nadhimoolam being inaugurated in Mylapore Fine Arts Club hall. The play started on time, by 7 PM and Mr.K.Vivekshankar dedicated the play to Mr.B.Kailasam, his mentor and son of Director K.Balachander, who passed away recently.
Tamil stage play has been associated with Tamilians from yonder days. It has been the source of entertainment of our people those days and it would not be an extravagant statement if we say that many of our cine actors we admire to be evergreen heroes started as stage play artiste. Today this live entertainment division of performing arts is lacking support and admiration. The theatre troupes have very little from the public as encouragement and they face stiff competition from television and internet having mass reach. If it was not for the art loving sabhas such as Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Kartik Fine arts to name a few, Tamil stage plays would have become extinct by now.
Mr. K. Vivekshankar has written and directed 16 Tamil stage plays and contributed script to many television serials, short films and telefilms and also associated with few feature films. He owns the theater group Prayatna.
Following Dhanushkoti play, a live visual treat on the stage written and directed by K.Vivekshankar for Shraddha, Prayatna is coming out with Thodarum, horror unplugged on stage in Narada Gana Sabha, TTK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai on February 23, 24, 35, 26 at 7 PM. Free invitations are available for download at kvivekshankar.com/blog
For the convenience of theater lovers across the world, the play will be WEBCAST LIVE FREE on Feb 25 at 7 PM IST. Details of Live Webcast are available on the official site, http://www.kvivekshankar.com. This is the first time a tamil stage play is webcast live and we are sure this will help the tamil dramas to reach more people.
