We decided to visit people and places and see if things are really back to normal post this 1.5 year Covid situation. On a positive note, festive shopping fervour seems to be much on the high – the absence of festivities have created a larger than life situation. Shops are much more crowded than what we had seen in 2019. Much to our surprise, stocks in shops did not match the oncoming festival. Normally it is the other way around. We could see shop’s sales people trying to convincing people to buy with limited stock. In few other shops, lethargy has set in – sales people hardly made an effort to sell and in other places, availability of sizes were a bigger issue leading to disappointed customers. Should we contribute it to the booming online sales that found larger acceptance during the pandemic? Is this situation hear to stay? or has the market not geared for the revival is a big question?Read the rest of this entry
The joy of living as a teenager has its own merits.
It is one of the best times of life where we begin to experience adulthood without the burden of being one. College was always fun and all the internships we served gave us small amounts which we happily used for our own food cravings. And above all, we have parents who are forever concerned about our day to day affairs and ready to give a lending hand whenever we feel low. Days started rolling too fast when we entered our final years, seriousness set in and it was all about clearing papers, practical exams and getting all ready to face campus interviews. That was the time it dawned on me that life is becoming serious and the possibility of getting a job in my hometown or even nearby city in Gujarat is farfetched.
Forum mall, a key destination for shopaholics in Chennai is all ready to welcome Diwali in a grand scale. Owing to its location and the plethora of options in lifestyle, fashion and food, it is a Goto place for most of us for shopping extravaganza. Lifestyle stores known for its “multi-floor multi-brand under one roof” shopping experience has its presence here. What we love about Lifestyle is the convenience of checking out various brands in one place. Be it Ginger, Bossini, Code, Fame Forever, And, Vero Moda, Levis, Kraus on the western wear collection and Melange, Biba, W, Global Desi, on the ethnic / fusion collection (and the list goes on), we can find them here and so Lifestyle store is our first option for clothing shopping. We are an ethereal lot having our own perception of what suits us best and we are happy to get into Lifestyle as everyone of us has options. On the occasion of Diwali, we checked out Lifestyle stores for us and here is what we saw –

This is no simple advertorial since we ourselves checked out various prices and was amazed at what was offered to us in the latest Television and washing machine since we are buying it ourselves.

Dawn breaks and our home is abuzz with ceremonial traditional Suprabatham so loud yet soothing such that everyone wakes up to it. Our beautiful home is lit with natural light entering through the traditional windows and the sun roof on the terracotta tiles. Our expansive home extends 3 divisions in length and the whole place is filled with pleasant incense. Getting up in the morning is refreshing and triggers a unique feeling of awakening in me. A walk to the backyard reveals the well cared for garden of guava, mango, neem, drumstick, coconut trees dotted with fragrant flower beds of jasmine, hibiscus, rose and many day and night flowers. It is a unique experience to see those buds waiting for the respective breaks to show up their lovely faces.
