Now that you’ve made fitness a habit the next big question is going to be what kind of diet should I follow. Which brings us to the fundamental question.
Why do we eat…?
We eat to survive. Now, such a simple thing has just gone over the roof with modern day diet fads pushing us to the brink and making us believe that whatever we’ve been eating so far is wrong and if not catered to something is going to go wrong. Brace yourself, nothing is going to go wrong.
Before starting any new method of dieting, we all miss out on figuring out what is so alarmingly wrong about our current eating habits which must be addressed to, there is no point in trying to write an answer without knowing what the question is. Now lets just have a look at the three most common dieting dialogues that keeps circulating and let us see what can be done about it.
Ok…! Now before you scroll down any further let me hit the nail straight on its head. The very reason that you’ve opened this article is that just a fortnight into the New Year and you are already apprehensive about whether you’re going to get caught in a rut and do the same old act of giving up on your fitness goals and then wait again for another 300 days to pass by. Else if you are someone who has been hitting the gym regularly you may find this helpful with respect to redefining your goals and progressively break your own limits.
Now for most you, who are desperate about getting fit, unfortunately, you might tend to fail in your attempt towards getting fit and being healthier for no fault of yours, by falling into a vicious cycle where you have failed expectations leading to loss of hope thereby clinging back onto your old habits and then social pressure might push you to your limits where in you reluctantly force yourself to get started again and then the same cycle repeats again and again until the next new year.
Millets is the new age food and we can confirm it with the number of restaurants offering millet based food aka healthy food. Healthy food is not something we want to eat once in a while and to make it regular, it must be prepared at home. This was one area which we were not familiar with as we belong to the city bred crowd. So we ended up hunting for such food and brought home ready to cook powders with which we can prepare dosai or adai. The problem with the powder is the dryness we get when preparing dosa or adai. It is manageable if we eat it immediately and how much ever we soak the powder, there is that hard feel in the end product. This is when we came across Gomathy Mami’s home batter and had the opportunity to try out 6 different batters –
Brown Rice Dosai , Multi grain Adai , Bajra (Kambu) Dosai, Horse gram (Kollu) Dosai, Ragi (Kezhviragu) Dosai, Regular Rice based Dosa / Idly and Paruppu Adai from them. I must say I am more than happy with the product in the pricing, quality and taste. Here is our experience –

Whole world has realized the potential of moringa and we have farms in US specifically developed to cultivate moringa and capsules, powders, oils made of Moringa leaves are on hot sale.
A timely initiative by BlogAdda brought us in terms with health that needed attention but still somehow was not given the priority it requires. Life is so fast paced that we lose track of time and also we have made our day complex that we do not find time to attend to our health and wellness. When you are aged above 40, doctors advise yearly checkup as most of the diseases show up their ugly head during this time. Last year checkup doctor advised walking and low salt diet to make sure BP is under control.
It was much easier to implement the low salt diet though there were demands for extra salt initially but soon it has become part of our diet. Walking did not find the daylight at all as we kept discussing about the ideal time and the area to walk as our place was abuzz with heavy traffic always. Discussion kept on till it was finally shelved and forgotten.
