Krishna Idols Exhibition at Poompuhar

When you think of Lord Krishna, his pranks and his immense love for his devotees come instantly to one’s mind. And like in the case of the idols of Lord Ganesha, artisans have created many variations in the idols of the dark lord. Coinciding with Krishna Janmashtami, Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation (Poompuhar) has organised a 15-day exhibition titled ‘Krishna Darshan’ at its Anna Salai showroom.

Bamboo writing steals show at museum

Bamboo was at the centre of life in Wayanad, Kerala. The people of the region used bamboo to build houses, make boats and fishing nets, and, more importantly, to pass their knowledge gained from experience to the next generation. A 17th century bamboo writing in Malayalam is the centre of attraction at the free week-long exhibition at the Government museum in Egmore on Wednesday.
