Learn Glass Sculpting at Dakshinachitra
DakshinaChitra heritage centre is organizing a two day workshop on Glass sculpting for adults. Srinivasa Raghavan – the resource person, an expert in this field had his training in scientific glass blowing and has been in the field for over 25 years.
Participants will learn to make sculptures of human figures and animals using soft glass. This technique is safe and suited for beginners.
Conveyance to and from DakshinaChitra, on the staff van, will be provided.

Celebrate Pongal Festival at DakshinaChitra with Sweet Pongal, Folk Dance and More
Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by Tamilians for four days. Pongal Festival, most popular in Tamilnadu will be celebrated withgreat pomp and grandeur at Dakshinachitra, creating the mood and colours of rural Tamilnadu, The traditional sweet Pongal will be prepared and served by the housekeepers in the Tamil Nadu street. Thanjai.G.Raju and troupe from Tamilnadu will perform Folk Dances like Myillattam, Poikal Kudirai and Karagam on all six days. Pongal is ritually prepared in the open air and served. There will be Bullock cart rides organized for the festival.
