The Superstar has been modelled (big guns in hand) after a popular scene from Endhiran. Interested in creating a Kitchen Garden?

July is the right month to plant seeds in your kitchen garden, say experts in the state agriculture department.

The department has designed a training programme for homemakers and entrepreneurs to set up kitchen gardens in apartments, rooftops and empty spaces wherein they can learn in easy steps how to grow organic food without too much investments.

Sixty people have already registered for this one-day training which will be given Wednesday at the Information and Training Centre (ITC) premises of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Anna Nagar.

Volunteering Opportunity for Homemakers

She was like any other homemaker till she happened to see an advertisement that called for volunteers to assist visually challenged students. Ms Padmavathy Anand resigned the Central government job to take care of her two children.

But after a few years when the kids were able to manage their own, Padmavathy decided to do her bit to society and volunteered as a scribe and a reader for visually impaired students. “I joined Prerana Helpline Foundation that works for the visually challenged students. It has been eight years now and all the students have become my good friends.
