This post is going to be one awesome experience of pure vegetarian food that spanned multi cuisines and each one outperformed the other. Few of the dishes were exemplary in comparison to the others, but overall it was a lovely culinary journey for us. Most of us know Prive restaurant located opposite to Citi center and this is their new restaurant at Kilpauk at Waddels road. Located in first floor, it is quite spacious to host groups also. New inclusion in the menu includes Mexican dishes, Italian dishes and North Indian food. We had a full course dinner starting from Soups, starters, main course and desserts.
Mexican food was absolutely yummy. Spinach quesadilla and cottage cheese, Mexican Lasagna, Nachos with Cheese sauce, Mexican Varderashvardesh were the hot picks.
NutriParadise Foods aims to give their customers a whole new experience in healthy eating and nutritional value of food. Here is the review by our health and fitness blogger, a professional fitness trainer, Niranjan Ganesh.
Themed restaurants improvise eating experience and breaks the monotony of the dining environment. Kaidi Kitchen (Jail Samayalarai), a multicuisine vegetarian restaurant is focused on giving you an experience of being inside a jail. There are cells and the service team is all dressed up in uniforms and the décor suits the theme. We visited the restaurant to experience the new big menu introduced by the restaurant. Primarily, the food and variety were excellent. We had a full course meal beginning with the Mongolian rice soup and ending it with a baked rasogolla and sizzling brownie icecream.
Asian Aroma is an Asian Vegetarian restaurant where we had specialty Asian dishes including rotis, and choice of north Indian subjis. The term Asian somehow rings Chinese to us and though they had mouth watering Chinese dishes, it was the Roti and Tawa Paneer along with Paneer Tikka that stole the show. It is located on Mayor Ramanathan Road in Chetpet closer to the Eco Park.
We went there for a review and the food was interesting and being a vegetarian, a place serving only vegetarian food is a big plus. Asian food and vegetarian, we do not have a lot of options. So vegetarians out there, this is a nice place to try out different cuisines that includes Indian food too.

Today in the era of nuclear families and the need to have a double income to sustain, it is common to see working couples struggling to manage life specifically in cooking food at home. Coming from a professional household, we understand the difficulties of managing time and health in life where competition is high, performance holds the key, travel consumes a major chunk of time and working hours have gone beyond 8 hours. Though our lifestyle has undergone changes, certain elements have gained prominence and demands attention than it was a few decades back. One such issue is lifestyle diseases and the need for balanced nutrition.
Celebrations have found a new meaning in our lives. Social life is at its active best and connecting and communicating with friends and relatives has become easy. It is a sea change in the behavioral patterns from yesteryears when connectivity was an issue. Looking at things today, it makes us feel that life was much more serious and less fun those days. Today children are much more youthful and more magnanimous in celebrating life. It is never too late to get into the bandwagon. It is mostly a surprise visit to the friend’s home or at a common place or a restaurant to celebrate birthdays or weddings or anniversaries. Whatever be the plan of celebration, our basic item is a huge cake we so carefully select based on the occasion. Cake shops today has reinvented themselves and we now have a great variety of Birthday cakes, wedding cakes and even photo cakes in Chennai.
Acclaimed Chef Mauro Ferrari on a trip to Milan came across Black truffle in the market and decided to bring it back to Chennai. Chef Mauro loves Chennai and wanted to give us the taste of Black truffle in his own creations through the Return of the Drama Chef happening at Focaccia till October 22. For the Chennai food lovers, Truffle is connected to pastries, that’s where we have heard this term often. Truffles are expensive edible mushrooms existing in two major categories Black and white – Can you believe that? Black truffle is one of the costliest and finest of the truffles. Truffle tastes as a mushroom and it was the hero of the dishes by the expert chef Mauro Ferrari.
Hangouts is the common term narrated by the youth today and many parents must be aware of it. To me, when my daughter says hangout, it means my purse is going to weigh a lot lighter soon. But the necessity of it could not be overlooked because friends move in different directions after school and the close-knit group wait for common holidays to meet each other and the enthusiasm is contagious. If it is just a small group, they do meet at home but then it is not all that comfy for them and if the group is slightly bigger then they start looking out for places where they can eat and spend time together. Youngsters have limitations with their pocket money and many times they are forced to find a place to meet and greet because they have no other option but to spend more.
Today’s visit to the Wai Wai City Noodle Bar in Highway Food Street on 100 feet road made it clear that it is a blessing for these children. It is value for money good quality food in an air-conditioned environment in a central easy to reach location, with all the Ts of a real hangout place. This is the first quick serve restaurant of Wai Wai City Noodle bar in Tamilnadu. A decent menu certainly not the tiring book of items, but has starters, main course, beverages, and a dessert. In starters, we have both veg and non-veg options. In noodles, Vegetarians have an edge here as non-veg items are an add-on. If you believe in your culinary expertise, you can also choose to prepare your own noodles.

Pakwan, a vegetarian restaurant in TNagar, Chennai celebrated the first anniversary of their operations along with the launch of their new menu which boasts of an array of interesting dishes. We were invited to be the part of the celebrations and taste the new menu. It was fun with games and food, and we enjoyed the lovely preparations and the ambience, a special mention to the mocktails we were floored with in the process.
This has been our first visit to the place even though it came up many times earlier. The new menu carries Asparagus risotto with almonds, and to the Masterchef fans out there, it would not sound new. Based out of rice, it was a queer dish for a South Indian but yet delicately interesting and we liked it.
