Deciphering the Smart Phone Jungle

I was one of the early users of mobile phone. I had an imported one that weighed like a kilo of sugar and most unhandy. Those were the days when even the incoming calls were charged. In spite of all its cons, I was proud of my phone that I knew everything about it, right from its place of birth and its operating system, not the one in the smart phones today but the bits and pieces of hardware that went to it.  It was one of my precious baggage and all the evolution related to mobiles, thanks to Nokia, Blackberry, Apple and the likes, did not influence me. It was my phone and it did what it should do, converse with other on the line.

Repeated attempts by colleagues and family did not deter my decision to exchange it for any of those so-called smart phones. Queer looks and quirky comments always followed me whenever I took out my phone to talk. I am not the one to give up so easily, after all it is my hard-earned money and it was working fine.

Then came a day when I lost my phone when I was shopping. I was upset and felt I lost a part of me but my family thought otherwise. There were comments that the thief must have been really puzzled at the piece he had managed to rob and even people pitied that person for having taken such a risk for my phone.  I was out of contact and out of sight for everyone.

All my family members started insisting me to go for the latest smart phone. I was still puzzled as to what a smart phone meant. Am I smart because I own the phone or the phone will make me smart, I have no idea.  I was vehement and hoping out of hope that I would get a call from someone who might have just got their hands on my phone. Few days passed and no phone calls came. I needed a phone badly and decided to buy a smart phone.

I just opened a Pandora’s Box as the next question that loomed in front of me, which one to buy? Number of suggestions, advice pursued and instead of getting clarified, I got more confused. I decided to check out the internet and all those reviews and comparison sites. Surprisingly, what was claimed as good in one site was touted as worse in another site. The days I spent on searching on the internet, made me so wise that I could talk about operating system, front camera, back camera, internal storage, external storage, battery, models, brands, prices etc.

I finally stumbled on MOTO E site and rest is history. Whatever I thought should be in my smart phone was in it features wise and also it came from a big brand, Motorola, and with a good price tag. What more can I ask? My search ended here.
