Mahindra World City, New Chennai, is India’s first integrated business city and corporate India’s first operational Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Mahindra World City, New Chennai is promoted in a public-private partnership between US$ 7.1 billion Mahindra Group and TIDCO (A Govt of Tamil Nadu Undertaking).

Spread over 1550 acres, Mahindra World City, New Chennai is located on the Golden Quadrilateral (NH 45) and is set amongst hills, natural lakes and a forest reserve. The City combines state–of–the–art facilities for business with world–class facilities for retail, leisure, hospitality and residential housing.

Mahindra World City offers the perfect synergy between life and work – a holistic WORK-LIVE-LEARN-PLAY environment. It has clearly demarcated business zones – three sector-specific SEZs (IT and ITES, Auto Ancillary, Apparel and Fashion Accessories) and a Domestic Tariff Area. It also has a residential/commercial zone which incorporates all modern conveniences as part of its social infrastructure.

Mahindra World City, New Chennai has attracted 55 customers from the US, Europe and Asia, including such corporate giants as BMW, B Braun, Infosys, Wipro, CapGemini, Renault-Nissan, Timken Bearings, TVS Group of Companies, Lincoln Electric, Parker Hannifin, Tesa Tapes, among others.

35 companies have started operations and around 23,000 persons are currently employed. Exports touched Rs 2300 crores in 2009 – 10 and investments were around Rs 2500 crores till April 2010.


Mahindra World City is strategically located just outside Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

Situated in a fast expanding industrial development hub, Mahindra World City is well connected by road and rail. It is just a short ride away from Chennai airport and the Chennai seaport.

A railway station (Paranur) on–site at Mahindra World City provides easy access to safe and cost effective rail transport including the suburban commuter services. The location is a fast expanding industrial hub with several engineering colleges, educational and technical institutions located along this corridor, providing access to high quality resources.
