Nominally Priced Luxury Airport Buses to Chennai City Introduced in Chennai Airport

Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) on Wednesday began operating 16-seater luxury air-conditioned coaches between Chennai airport and Egmore railway station and Chennai airport and Anna Nagar West bus terminus.

The coaches have been fitted with GPS and electronic display boards to provide passengers information about approaching stops, automatic doors and have separate space for keeping the luggage, MTC officials said.

The Chennai airport – Egmore railway station service would pass through Guindy, Anna Salai, Madhya Kailash, Adyar, Mandaveli, Park Sheraton Hotel, Alwarpet, Cathedral Road, Anna Salai, Connemara Hotel and Egmore. The fare would be Rs.150 per passenger.

The Chennai airport-Anna Nagar West bus terminus service would pass through Kathipara, Kasi theatre, Udhayam theatre, Ashok Pillar, Vadapalani police station, Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Koyambedu, and Anna Nagar West bus terminus. The fare would be Rs.100 per passenger.

For helping travelers new to the city, the MTC has set up a booth at the airport to help passengers.

  3. Yes, I too got this feedback. The officials say there is lack of support to it from the public. I am sure with more people opting for it, it will become a successful beneficial conveyance for both the visitors and residents.

  4. Really Nice implementation; when ever people coming from Air port ,they spending More then 500 rs .of travel charges ,its 30 percentage cost of Air ticket so this Buses ll Much useful and beneficial for Air travelrs…
