AgriCon 2011, Conference on Agriculture R & D Trends 2020
The Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Center of CII is organizing the AgriCon 2011: Conference on Agriculture R & D Trends 2020 on 14th of December 2011 at Hotel Taj Coromandel, Chennai, India.
The objective of the conference:
To facilitate knowledge flow by working with various organizations/ stakeholders in Agric value Chain/ bi-lateral/multi-lateral cooperation mechanism. To Know the effects of future technology on Agriculture and Food processing industry. To address the challenges, research direction, technological gaps and constraints in the Agriculture Eco System. To develop delivery mechanism for improvements in farm productivity are matched by post-harvest and preservation technologies. Forging partnerships for collaborative research and product development with Academicians & Indian industry. Interacting with Government to establish policy and standards to accelerate the agriculture and promote agro based & food processing enterprises
Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India has agreed to deliver the Inagural Address at AgriCon 2011. The specialized conference with the theme of agricultural R & D system and focus on addressing the challenges, research direction, technological gaps and constraints and develop delivery mechanism for improvements in farm productivity are matched by post-harvest and preservation technologies.
The conference would deal with the following sessions with the topics:
Plenary Session I: Drivers of Food Eco System ( Issues in Agricultural Trade, Investment in agricultural technology, Research on Future Technologies and Agricultural innovation and challenges)
Plenary Session I: Recent Developments in Plant Protection & Resistance Strategy ( Patent Rights, Developments in Crop Protection and Crop Resistance management)
Plenary Session III: Climate Change, Rain fed Agriculture and Water Management ( Implications of Climate Change, Rural Research and Water Management system)
Plenary Session IV: Agricultural Technologies & Equipment for enhancing yield ( Managing Input Costs with New Equipment Technology , Thrusts In Agricultural Mechanization and Standards & Regulations)
Around 300 senior personnel representing CEO’s, Industry leaders & senior executives of leading manufacturers of Agriculture Input Companies ,Agro based companies,Agrcricultural Universities, Central Universities and Labs, Fresh Produce Exporters; Retail Chains and government agencies are expected to attend this conference.
